On October 23, 2024, we held our iRTG meeting, which was attended by our doctoral candidates and MD students. The day kicked off with a bioinformatics course focusing on the analysis of their own RNA-seq data and optimizing visualizations for publication readiness. This was followed by Science Slam-style presentations from several members, offering everyone a chance to gain insight into the possibilities of science communication.

Afterward, participants formed groups dedicated to outreach initiatives. These groups will combine their experiences and interests to contribute to fields such as LinkedIn, Twitter, the project’s website, and the “Long Night of Science” event in 2025. The Task Forces generated during the meeting were highly constructive and were presented with great enthusiasm.

The meeting concluded with an inspiring lecture by Prof. Marisa Karow titled “How to Juggle Triplets and Professorship Duties.” She shared many valuable ideas and strategies for balancing family and work, as well as insightful tips on building a strong network and establishing a name in academia.

The day ended with a joint dinner the arabian way with shared plates in Erlangen, celebrating our students, the diversity within our group, and the exciting potential for future achievements that will emerge from our exceptional collaborations. We look forward to showcasing the successes that will come from this wonderful cooperation.
